Sandgren to compete in Lions All-Star Game

Redwood Valley senior catcher batted .278 for the season

Outgoing Redwood Valley senior catcher Trevor Sandgren has been chosen to compete in the 37th annual Minnesota Lions All-Star Baseball Tournament on Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25.

Sandgren – who will play for Augustana University next spring – batted .278 with a team-high 21 RBI’s to go along with three doubles, three triples, a home run and a .500 slugging percentage for the Cardinals.

The Lions Tournament features 80 of the state’s best high school baseball players on four regional teams – North, South, Metro East and Metro West – in a round-robin contest.
