Lars Brevik entered the Minnesota Section 8A baseball championship game with a .196 batting average. He struck out in two of his first three at-bats in the final.
With the game on the line, however, the Red Lake County freshman was right where he wanted to be, at the plate.
Brevik came through. His hit drove home the tie-breaking run as the Rebels’ two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted them to a 6-5 win against Norman County in the 8A baseball final Thursday.
