Boston used its 37th round pick on Hill-Murray senior Robert Youngdahl, an outfielder.

Youngdahl is the second Minnesota high-schooler taken in the 2011 MLB Draft.

The Twins took two area pitchers, including the University of Minnesota's T.J. Oakes, and several other local players were selected during the third day of baseball's amateur draft Wednesday.

Minnesota selected Oakes, a sophomore from Jordan, in the 41st round. Oakes was 5-5 with a 3.26 ERA for the Gophers this season.

In the 46th round, the Twins chose left-hander Jared Dettmann of Somerset, Wis. Dettmann, who has committed to Connecticut next fall, was honorable mention All-Wisconsin this spring after posting a 2.77 ERA for Somerset.

Milwaukee chose Plymouth native Adam Weisenburger in the 34th round. The Benilde-St. Margaret's graduate, a senior catcher at Miami of Ohio, has also played two seasons for the St. Cloud RiverBats in the Northwoods League.

In the 46th round, the Diamondbacks chose Vanderbilt outfielder Joe Loftus, a graduate of the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield. Loftus, a junior who was drafted in the 29th round by the Twins out of high school, is the 12th member of the Commodores to be drafted this week.

Brian Hansen, a sophomore outfielder at St. Cloud State, was chosen by the Indians in the 49th round. A graduate of Rocori High in Cold Spring, Hansen batted .318 with 14 doubles and three triples for the Huskies this spring.
