Lakeville North's Moore pitches a gem for Panthers

LAKEVILLE NORTH 2, EASTVIEW 0: Senior A.J. Moore pitched a complete game two-hit shutout with six strikeouts, leading the Panthers past the Class 3A, No. 9 Lightning in a South Suburban Conference matchup Monday. Senior Bret Piekarski went 3-for-3 with a two-run double in the sixth inning to get Moore the win.

BETHANY ACADEMY 11, PACT CHARTER 0: Senior Joey Byron threw a no-hitter as the Eagles beat the Panthers in a five-inning nonconference game due to the 10-run rule.

BUFFALO 16, CONCORDIA ACADEMY 9: The Bison put on an offensive show in beating the Beacons in nonconference play. Senior outfielder Brett Renshaw, had a home run, double and three RBI while sophomore first baseman Jason Sanger and junior third baseman J.D. O’Donnell each hit two-run homers.

DELANO 13, ANNANDALE 0: Junior Cody Mathisen gave up one hit in the fifth, the final inning of Tigers’ victory over the Cardinals because of the 10-run rule in their Wright County matchup. Trevor Jaunich got the offense started, hitting a three-run home run in the first. Tyler Wolfe had two doubles for Delano.

DELASALLE 7, MINNEAPOLIS WASHBURN 5: The Islanders scored four runs in the top of the seventh, rallying to beat the Millers in nonconference play. Senior outfielder Paul Olson went 3-for-4 with three RBI, including a game-winning single, for the Islanders.
