A look at the power-hitting senior

Tyler Beaulieu

Senior catcher Tyler Beaulieu is the lastest in a line of power-hitting catchers at Tartan. He leads the Titans with five home runs.

Most memorable moment as a high school athlete: When I hit a walk off home run against North St. Paul last year.

How important is baseball? Baseball is my life. The minute the baseball season ends, I’m looking forward to the next
season. I don’t know what I would do without it.

Three things you couldn’t play without: Either an Arizona iced tea or a Brisk, grandpa bringing me peanuts and a Gatorade and my walk-up song, “Hicktown” by Jason Aldean.

Baseball is: My favorite thing in the world. It’s the only thing that comes natural to me.

Strangest thing ever experienced?
My final game in the Little League World Series, when the two pitchers threw seven scoreless innings and we lost on an overthrow.

The key to hitting for power: For me, just getting ahead in the count and knowing/guessing what the pitcher is going to throw.

Favorite part of a game:
Situations where all eyes are on you for a big at-bat and coming through!

One small tip before a big game:  Don’t ride the emotional roller coaster. There’s always another at-bat or another play you need to make.

What team really motivates you?
Hill-Murray, just because you know they’re going to bring it every game.

One sacrifice during the season:
NO GIRLS! (haha)
