Cougars' Starter Looks Sharp, In-the-Park Grand Slam Helps Centennial

Jordan Stroh pitched four strong innings for Park Center, holding the score at 2-1 before Centennial loaded the bases in the fifth and used a 'fluky' in-the-park grand slam on a dive from a right-fielder (who injured himself) to grab a 6-1 lead. The Cougars would eventually spread the gap to 9-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh. The Pirates then rallied for two runs before the game ended in a 9-3 score. Tyler Stroh had a nice night at the plate (3 for 3) and in the field for PC, making several nice defensive plays.

The Cougars used a strong effort from starting pitcher, Steve Piette, and a near-cycle day from Sam Alt (3 for 4, 1b, 2b, 3b) to thwart the Pirates and take home victory number 11 on the year.
