Pioneers back on track in conference

HILL-MURRAY 3, MAHTOMEDI 1: After opening the season 8-0, Hill-Murray lost back-to-back Classic Suburban games against St. Thomas Academy and North St. Paul in early May. But after defeating the Zephyrs on Friday, the Pioneers (12-2) have now won four straight. Senior Alex Toninato went 3-for-3 with a run scored and stolen base, and sophomore Luc Henke (3-1) pitched a complete game to earn the win.

ST. PAUL HIGHLAND PARK 2, ST. ANTHONY 1: With the game tied in the top of the seventh, junior Nate Anderson gave the Scots the lead with an RBI triple. Senior Tommy Paulson then closed the door on the Huskies, capping a complete game win with 11 strikeouts. Highland Park (9-5) has now won five straight, while the loss snapped a seven-game win streak for St. Anthony (11-4).

BLAKE 10, CONCORDIA ACADEMY 0, 6 INN.: Blake starter Kentucky Morrow threw a no-hitter, walking one and striking out four in the shortened game. Morrow, a sophomore, is now 4-0 with a 1.68 ERA this year.
