Richfield's Petersen no-hits North St. Paul

RICHFIELD 3, NORTH ST. PAUL 0: Sophomore Andrew Petersen fired a no-hitter with seven strikeouts as the Spartans shut out the Polars in the Classic Suburban Conference on Thursday. With good command of his curveball, Petersen only allowed one ball to be hit to the outfield. No. 9 hitter senior Joe Griffin provided all the offense with two home runs, a solo shot in the third and two-run blast in the fifth. North St. Paul was coming off a 7-6 victory over Class 3A, No. 6 Hill-Murray the previous day.

CENTENNIAL 10, ANDOVER 0: Cougars senior Austin Malinowski threw a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts in shutting out the Huskies in the Northwest Suburban. Senior third baseman Adam LaMere went 3-for-4 with a single, double and home run and two RBI.

ZIMMERMAN 6, BECKER 5: Junior first baseman Takuma Padilla hit his first career home run, a three-run shot in the bottom of the sixth, as the Thunder rallied past the Bulldogs in the Mississippi 8. Junior Kyle Connelly took over on the mound in the top of the seventh to record the save, striking out the side in the process.
