Strong offense, pitching push STMA past Mississippi 8 rivals

This past Thursday the Knights went to Monticello and took on the Magic and left with a huge victory.

The Knights put up an outstanding 25 runs in five innings. 

Brian LaVallee, Christian Lemke and Shawn Morris led the way for the Knights by going a combined 10-12 with eight RBI. Dain Krutiz and Trevor Nevin also added four hits and five RBI.

Garrett Watters picked up the win by pitching five innings. Watters struck out four Magic hitters and the Knights handled the Magic 25-5. 

On Monday, the Knights traveled to Zimmerman for the last time to take on the Thunder in a Mississippi 8 Conference game.

Zimmerman will be leaving the Mississippi 8 after this season.

The Knights were led by Ben Schmitz and Steven Kieser as both hit their first home runs of the season. Brian LaVallee also added two hits for the Knights.

Justin Dzubay went six strong innings to pick up his first win of the season.  Dzubay had six strikeouts. The Knights left Zimmerman with an 8-3 victory. 

The Knights had yet another road game this past Tuesday as they traveled to Becker.

In their last meeting with the Bulldogs, the Knights lost a close one 4-3, but the Knights took care of Becker this time around by winning 8-1.

Brian LaVallee was strong on the mound once again. LaVallee went the distance, pitching seven innings, allowing one run off three hits, and striking out eleven Bulldog batters.

LaVallee also provided some offense for STMA. He hit his first home run of the season. 

The Knights improved their record to 7-4 overall and 7-3 in the Mississippi 8 Conference.
