Wildcats' catcher hoping for second trip to state this year

Tommy Bodeker

Eagan senior Tommy Bodeker has already played in one state tournament in his final year of high school and wouldn’t mind making it two.

He currently is a catcher/first baseman after being a member of the the Wildcats' state tournament hockey team in the winter. Here is a closer look at Bodeker:

The best movie I’ve seen in the past year? “MacGruber.”

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are? “All These Things That I’ve Done” by The Killers; “Float On” by Modest Mouse; “Take Me Home Tonight” by Eddie Money.

Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Dedicated; competitive; funny.

Favorite meal before a game? Jimmy John’s.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … in awe.

Who is your school’s biggest rival, and why? Eastview. We just don’t get along.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? Very good organization, and great parents.

What is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Minnesota Twins. They know how to win the right way.

Do you have a secret talent – and if so, what is it? I can do the splits.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? “It doesn’t matter who you play, it’s how you play.”
