The senior threw a no-hitter, leading the Class 3A, No. 1 Eagles past the Royals in Lake Conference play Thursday afternoon. The senior struck out eight and walked two. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate. Hopkins’ run scored after a walk, an error, and a fielder’s choice.
• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S 4, ST. LOUIS PARK 3: Robby Sutherland laid down a bases-loaded bunt single in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving the Red Knights a victory over the Orioles in North Suburban play. Each team scored twice in the sixth inning.
• CENTENNIAL 14, PARK CENTER 0: Austin Malinowski struck out 13 batters in five innings of work as the Class 3A, No. 8 Cougars shut out the Pirates in the Northwest Suburban. Malinowski only allowed one hit in the five-inning game due to the 10-run rule.
• COON RAPIDS 10, ANDOVER 1: Sophomore Logan Shore went 4-for-4 with a two-run home run and also pitched six innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out 10, as the Cardinals beat the Huskies in the Northwest Suburban.
• HASTINGS 1, WOODBURY 0: Senior Tony Hammes’ RBI single scored senior Andrew Lindberg in the top of the 11th inning as the Raiders beat the Royals in a pitcher’s duel in the Suburban East. Hastings junior Aaron Stoneberg went nine innings, scattering six hits. Junior Ryan Fritze went eight innings for Woodbury, allowing eight hits while striking out seven.
• ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 7, PRINCETON 0: Senior ace Brian LaVallee was dominant, tossing a no-hitter while striking out 13 and walking three as the Knights beat the Tigers in the Mississippi 8.
• WAYZATA 5, MINNETONKA 0: Senior Paul Voelker threw a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts, leading the Trojans past the Class 3A, No. 7 Skippers in the Lake.
