River runs for 7 steals, 14 runs

Park Center wasn't quite up to the challenge on this day. Giving up a single run in the first, the Pirates got two runs right back for starting pitcher, Matt Hanson, gaining a 2-1 lead entering the second inning. The Elks tallied six more runs in the top of the second, though, to attain a lead they would never reliquinsh. The Gold-and-Green Nine plated two more runs in the third to narrow the gap, but could not score another run, eventually losing 14-4 in a six inning game, stopped for the 10-run rule.

Mark Lundholm and Jordan Stroh each pitched two innings for the Pirates after Hanson exited. Hanson, though, took the loss, to bring him to 0-2 on the season. The Elks combined for 16 hits, four of them for extra bases, and stole seven bases on the day. Park Center tallied five hits, four runs, but also committed five errors. Jordan Stroh led the way again at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double, an rbi, and two runs scored. Austin Becker (2 rbi), Tyler Stroh, and Jimmy Chopp struck for the other Pirate hits, while Connor Green Green also had an rbi ground out in the first.

Tucker Morrell threw five solid innings for the Elks, to pick up the win. Brandon Meyer, Corey Collins, Sam Krick, and Aaron Pipenhagen each had multiple hit days to pace the Elk River attack at the plate. The Pirates fall to 1-6 on the year, while the Elks move to 4-3.
