Kurtzweg carries Dassel-Cokato past Mound-Westonka

DASSEL-COKATO 2, MOUND-WESTONKA 0: Senior pitcher Mitch Kurtzweg carried the Chargers on Tuesday, firing a two-hit shutout while also hitting a solo home run in a Wright County Conference victory over the White Hawks. With the win, Class 2A, No. 13 Dassel-Cokato moves to 3-0. Mound-Westonka falls to 3-2.

ANDOVER 10, PARK CENTER 0: Junior pitcher Kyle Gausman threw a shutout, scattering three singles while striking out 12 batters as the Huskies moved to 4-1 in the Northwest Suburban by beating the Pirates in a game shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule. Senior Tyler Kronstedt led the offense with three RBI.

ST. PAUL HIGHLAND PARK 1, ST. PAUL COMO PARK 0: Senior Tommy Paulson threw a three-hit shutout while striking out nine, helping the Scots to their first win of the season with a victory over the Cougars in the St. Paul City. Paulson also went 2-for-3 at the plate, and scored the lone run on a ground out in the top of the seventh inning.
