Mounds View High School Activities Director Bob Madison selected assistant coach Jon Nuss from among a number of qualified candidates to be the Mustangs' new head mentor after Mark Downey resigned at the end of last season..  

Nuss is a Bloomington native who was a three-sport standout at Jefferson High School.

Prior to being named the Mustangs head coach, Nuss served as an assistant for four years under Downey and for two years under Brad Tulberg.
