Trojans win season opener

Worthington played well Tuesday afternoon with a season opening 7-3 win over the Southwestern United Wildcats.

The opening-day victory not only starts the Trojans’ 2011 campaign off with a 1-0 record, but also gives first-year WHS head coach Stacy Sauerbrei his first win at the helm for the local squad.

Sauerbrei has been with the WHS baseball program for 14 years and had been an assistant to long-time former head coach Pat Shaughnessy for more than a decade.
