High school baseball pitch count limits

The following rules are in effect for Minnesota high school varsity baseball games this season:

Pitch-count limits

The following is in effect for Minnesota high school varsity baseball games this season:

• One to 30 pitches:  zero days of rest.

• 31 to 50 pitches:  one day of rest.

• 51 to 75 pitches:  two days of rest.

• 76 to 105 pitches:  three days of rest.

Maxing out: Once pitchers reach the limit, they are allowed to finish pitching to that batter. The daily maximum is 105 pitches; the total increases to 115 for the playoffs.

Rest requirements: Pitchers are required to get a day of rest if they pitch two consecutive days. Days of rest are measured in calendar days, and not 24-hour periods.
