May 16: The Wildcats and Tigers tangle for a division lead and possibly the top seed in the Section 6 playoffs.

Waconia has torn through this season and owns the best record in Minnesota (14-0, 8-0), yet the Wildcats, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A in the Associated Press statewide poll, have yet to lock up the east side of the Wright County Conference or cement the best record among their Section 6 rivals.

Hutchinson (11-4, 9-1) has finished with the most conference wins in the East Division three years running, and after a slow start to this year, the No. 15-3A Tigers are ready to challenge Waconia.

Hutchinson has won 10 of its last 11 games, including all six of its conference games and four contests with section foes. The Tigers are also the last team to beat the Wildcats, knocking them from the Section 6 semifinals last June.

The first of two regular-season meetings between these teams is Tuesday in Hutchinson, and with both teams vying for a top seed in the section bracket and first place the Wright County Conference East standings, it's our Top Game of the Week.
