Baseball Player of the Week revealed

Player of the Week winner

Ryan Bastyr, Lakeville North: In a 3-1 win over Burnsville, the senior second baseman collected two hits in three at-bats, including a double with two RBI and one run. Bastyr also drew a walk.

Player of the Week candidates

Ryan Acker, Zimmerman. The junior outfielder went 2-for-2 with a walk and recorded four RBI and two runs in a 7-5 win over Hermantown. Acker launched his second home run of the season.

Addison Elcombe, Bloomington Jefferson. In a 4-1 win against Chanhassen, the junior went 1-for-3, driving in three runs on a home run.

Ethan Engdahl, Rosemount. The senior catcher knocked a double and a triple in three at-bats in a 4-2 win over Burnsville. Engdahl scored two runs and tallied two RBI.

Peyton James, Benilde-St. Margaret’s. James went 2-for-3 in a 5-3 win over Bloomington Kennedy. He recorded a triple and a walk with two runs and two RBI.

Ryan Kuntz, St. Paul Academy. The junior pitched a complete game, giving up one run on four hits and striking out 11 batters in a 2-1 win over Mounds Park Academy.

Justin Langer, Mounds View. The senior scored one run and drove in three while going 2-for-4 with a double in a 5-4 win over Cretin-Derham Hall.

Kyle Nordby, Centennial. Nordby recorded a win in a four-hit shutout of Champlin Park. The senior struck out seven over seven innings pitched in the 1-0 decision.

Nic Voelker, Mayer Lutheran. The senior pitched a complete game shutout, giving up four hits and striking out eight in a 1-0 win over Heritage Christian.

Malik Wilson, Henry Sibley. Wilson gave up no runs on two hits, pitching seven shutout innings against North St. Paul. The senior picked up six strikeouts in the 2-0 win.
