Jordan Kuznia and Michael Kaminski matched five-hit performances but it was Kuznia and his Robbinsdale Armstrong team which came out on top of Benilde-St. Margaret's, 1-0, in the last game between unbeaten teams in the Section 6AAA playoffs.

The game's lone run came in the bottom of the third after an inauspicious start for the Falcons, who got a leadoff single in the frame from Mike Arnost, However, Kaminski picked him off base and retired Cory Gilbert on a pop out to get two outs.

Josh Thorp followed with up the middle and promptly stole second base. Troy Oullette then singled through the right side with Thorp racing home to give Armstrong the lead.

The Red Knights managed to get a runner to third base, in the form of Keaton Studsrud, in the four inning and loaded the bases in the fifth but Kuznia was able to get out of both jams.

Kaminski would battle through the final three innings against the Falcons. After working a 1-2-3 fourth, he gave up a two-out triple to Cory Gilbert before hitting Thorp with a pitch but escaped the jam by getting Oullette to hit a comebacker to the mound.

In the sixth, Kaminski issued back-to-back walks to open the inning but then retired the last three batters he faced.

For the game, Kaminski allowed just five hits over six innings, walking three and striking out three in completing his seventh game of the season.

Studsrud got into scoring position twice in the game but was thrown out at third base to end the first inning and was left stranded at third in the fourth inning. Sam Lynch reached base twice, leading off the game with an infield single and reaching in the fifth when he was hit by a pitch.

BSM falls into the loser's bracket and will play Monday, at 1 p.m., at Siebert Field. The Red Knights' opponent will be determined tomorrow as St. Louis Park and Wayzata square off at 4:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to play Hopkins immediately afterwards.

The Red Knights will face the winner of tomorrow's second game and that winner will play a second game, Monday, against Armstrong.
