Heisler is completing his final season as a member of the Lightning baseball team. He is a third baseman/pitcher who finished the regular season with an overall record of 9-11. Here is a closer look at Heisler:

The best movie I’ve seen in the last year? “Anchorman 2.” I’m a big Will Ferrell fan.

Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Hardworking, passionate and loyal.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are … “Alright” by Darius Rucker; “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” by Jake Owen; and “Springsteen” by Eric Church.

How and when did you get started playing baseball? My parents signed me up for YMCA T-ball at the age of 4, and I’ve loved it ever since.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … nervous being around all of the upperclassmen, but they made me feel like a part of the team right away.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Getting my first varsity win on the mound against Lakeville South [6-2] last year.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be?

For baseball, making the season a little bit longer and having the playoffs later in June.

How have you balanced school and sports throughout the years? I have to make sure I manage my time and try and not to get distracted when I’m doing my school work.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? If you put in the work, results will come.
