Five was a magic number for Keaton Studsrud, who had five hits and five RBI in five at bats while lead Benilde-St. Margaret's to an 11-5 win over Robbinsdale Cooper.

The Red Knights' senior co-captain doubled in a run in the first, singled home runs in the second and fifth innings and added a two-run double in the sixth and also added a single in the fourth inning as he accounted for six of the team's 11 runs scored.

Batting in the third spot in the BSM order, Studsrud followed Sam Lynch, who scored three runs, and Nate Hanks, who scored four times, in the order as the trio combined for eight runs, eight hits and seven RBI, reaching base safely in 10 of 14 plate appearances.

The Red Knights were cruising through four innings, holding a 6-0 lead as Mikey McGill was working on a three-hitter heading into the fifth inning.

The Hawks got five hits and a sacrifice fly from their first six hittings in the inning and brought the potential tying run to the play when Connor Day came on in relief of McGill.

The BSM junior got out of the inning with a fly out and a strike out and worked a 1-2-3 sixth inning, retiring all five batters he faced before the Red Knights added five more runs to take an 11-3 lead heading into the final inning.

Four players turned in multiple-hit performances for BSM, led by Studsrud's five hits. McGill added two hits, including a double, while Hanks and Michael Kaminski both added a pair of singles, with Kaminski driving in a pair of runs.

Finishing second in the North Suburban Conference, the Red Knights are slated for a pair of non-conference games next week to wrap up the regular season.

Monday, BSM will face Holy Angels in a 4:30 p.m. game at Donaldson Park in Richfield before finishing the season at home, Tuesday, with a 4:15 p.m. game versus Cretin-Derham Hall.
