Danny Alvarez

Danny Alvarez just completed his senior year as the Eagan baseball team's center fielder. While going to Florida with the baseball team was one of his most memorable times, so was winning the state table tennis title. Here is a closer look at Alvarez:

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "21 Jump Street."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Gasolina" by Daddy Yankee; "We No Speak Americano" by Yolanda Be Cool; "Danza Kuduro" by Don Omar.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Lucky; speedy; and so lucky.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... a lot of pressure and nervous.

What is your favorite pregame meal? Scrambled eggs and a couple pieces of toast.

How do you balance school and sports during high school? I take advantage of my down time during school and I'll stay up late if I need to finish some work.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? All the fundraising that has to be done to keep the program functioning.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? Anything and everything Miami. I love all of them.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... working for an engineering firm.

Do you have a secret talent -- and if so, what is it? I'm great at the [card] game of Hearts.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? Just learning that you're not always going to succeed in games, but by practicing, succeeding in games comes much easier.
