And the winner is...MN Baseball Hub Top Performer revealed

See who fans voted as the top performer from May 15-20

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Baseball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email scores@nbcuni.com


Top performer winner

Owen Schmidt, Farmington. The senior tossed a gem on a day the Tigers needed it. Schmidt had a complete-game one-hitter in a 1-0 win May 15 vs. Eagan. The Winona State commit added 12 strikeouts. 

Top performer candidates

Alex Ehlebracht, Nova Classical Academy. Based on stats submitted to MN Baseball Hub, Ehlebracht leads the state with six home runs. In three games last week, all wins, the junior went 5-for-11 with two homers, eight RBIs, seven runs and two stolen bases. 

Luke Sems, Pine Island. Sems was hitting the seams off the ball in the Panthers' 10-3 win May 20 at Triton. The sophomore went 5-for-5 with three RBIs, three runs and a stolen base. Sems also earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs, both earned, on three hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

Louis Hertling, Anoka. Hertling is in the running for back-to-back Top Performer honors. The senior helped the Tornadoes to a 3-2 record last week. Hertling batted 9-for-15 with nine RBIs and two walks. The standout performance was a 4-for-4, five-RBI game in a 12-0 win May 18 vs. Coon Rapids. He also pitched a five-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks.

Cody Wichmann, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton. Fifteen of 21 outs Cody Wichmann recorded came via strikeout in a 9-1 win May 16 at Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian. The senior allowed four hits and no walks. It was his third consecutive double-digit strikeout outing and fourth on the season. In three wins last week, Wichmann went 6-for-11 with three doubles, a walk and five runs.
