And the winner is...MN Baseball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Baseball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email scores@nbcuni.com


Top performer winner

Nolan Geislinger, Eden Valley-Watkins. Geislinger struck out the side in a scoreless inning in an 11-6 win May 1 at Paynesville Area, but that was just the beginning. In the Eagles' 5-0 win May 4 vs. Holdingford, the junior pitched a complete game, one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and two walks. Geislinger helped his cause with a 3-for-3 day at the plate with two runs scored, an RBI and walk. He went 2-for-4 with a walk and stolen base against Paynesville.

Top performer candidates

William Haas, Rockford. A big week for the sophomore was highlighted by a complete game, one-hit shutout with 18 strikeouts and three walks in the Rockets' 2-0 win May 4 at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. At the plate in five games last week, Haas went 9-for-14 with a triple, four walks and three RBIs.

Hunter Gerber, Maple Grove. The University of Minnesota-Duluth commit did it all in the Crimson's 4-1 win May 2 vs. Spring Lake Park. On the mound, Gerber pitched a complete game, allowing six hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts. He also slugged a home run and double in a 2-for-4 day at the plate with two RBIs. Last week in five games, Gerber batted 4-for-14 with five RBIs and a walk.

Thomas Belman, Breck. Thomas Belman had more RBIs (seven) in the Mustangs' 13-3 win May 5 at Trinity than he had the rest of the season (six). The junior went 3-for-4 with two doubles as part of a week where Belman finished 7-for-13 with a triple, 10 RBIs and a stolen base.

Cooper Dack, Montevideo. In one game of a May 5 doubleheader against BOLD, Dack went 3-for-4 with two runs, a double and three RBIs in a 13-1 win. The next game, Dack pitched a five-inning, one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and three walks in a 12-0 win. He helped his cause by scoring a run and driving in another. For the week, Dack batted 8-for-12 with two doubles, two walks and seven RBIs.
