And the winner is...MN Baseball Hub Top Performer revealed

See who fans voted as the top performer from April 24-29.

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Baseball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email scores@nbcuni.com


Top performer winner

Seth Nelson, Mahtomedi. It was a big week for Nelson at the plate, batting 5-for-9 with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs. His biggest game came April 29 in Mahtomedi's 7-2 win at White Bear Lake. Nelson pitched six innings of four-hit, shutout baseball with one walk and six strikeouts. The senior helped his cause going 2-for-3 with a home run, double and two RBIs. 

Top performer candidates

Gavin Pausch, Ottertail Central. The right-handed junior became the first Ottertail Central hurler to toss a no-hitter in more than a decade. He allowed one unearned run with two walks and seven strikeouts in the Bulldogs' 9-1 win April 26 vs. Lake Park-Audobon. Pausch also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk, run and four stolen bases.

Rylee HamsEast Grand Forks. Hams did a little bit of everything in the Green Wave's 10-0 win April 27 vs. Thief River Falls/Goodridge. He pitched all five innings to earn the win, allowing two hits, a walk and striking out six. He batted 3-for-4 and was a double shy of the cycle. The sophomore scored two runs and drove in three more.

Peter Douma, St. Paul Highland Park. The Highlanders are rolling and Douma is a big reason. In four wins last week, the junior went 9-for-13 with two home runs, 13 RBIs, six runs and six stolen bases. He also pitched a scoreless inning in a 14-0 win April 24 vs. St. Paul Washington.

Tayven Geiger, Randolph. Geiger put the team on his back in the Rocket's 3-0 win April 28 at Pine Island. On the rubber, the junior pitched a complete game one-hitter with no walks and nine strikeouts. At the dish, he went 2-for-4 with a solo home run.
