Maddox Mihalakis is the 2022 Play Ball! Minnesota Mr. Baseball.

Mihalakis, an outgoing senior, was an infielder for Hopkins this season and recorded some torrid numbers on the field. In 23 games, he had 17 RBIs and six home runs. He also got 30 hits, good for a .476 batting average.

Mihalakis helped lead the Royals to a second-place finish in the Section 6, Class 4A tournament, taking St. Louis Park, the eventual champion, to a second game in the championship on June 6.

After his time in high school with Hopkins, Mihalakis is enrolled at the University of Arizona and will play for the Wildcats next year.

The other finalists for the 2022 Mr. Baseball award were Drew Berkland of Wayzata, Easton Fritcher of Hayfield, Blake Guerin of Mound View, Kristofer Hokenson of St. Louis Park, Kyle Law of Andover and Derrick Smith of White Bear Lake.
