And the winner is...MN Baseball Hub Top Performer revealed

See who fans voted as the top performer from April 4-16.

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Baseball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Reagan Reeder, Anoka. The junior has started strong this season, recording RBIs in each of the Tornadoes’ first three games. Reeder went a combined 7-for-9 in those games, including hitting two doubles and a home run. Reeder has recorded nine RBIs on his team’s 24 runs and has one stolen base.  

Top performer candidates

Jeremy Bingesser, Pierz. The senior led the Pioneers’ first win of the season as he threw 61 pitches through four innings, allowing one unearned run and striking out seven batters. At the plate, Bingesser went 1-for-2, scoring a run and tallying two RBIs in the Pioneers’ 3-2 victory against Wadena-Deer Creek on April 11.

Cole Newell, Maple Grove. The senior had a tough test on the mound in the Crimson’s season opener against Osseo, but he had a solid showing which allowed the Crimson’s one first-inning run to stand as the game winner. Newell pitched 5 2/3 innings in the 1-0 April 11 victory, giving up just three hits and recording 12 strikeouts.

Noah Thorsen, North Branch. The Vikings earned wins in their first two games of the season thanks in part to Thorsen’s pitching and hitting. The sophomore pitched two scoreless innings in the Vikings’ 8-4 victory against Hibbing on April 9 and then again in their 5-3 win at St. Francis on April 11, striking out three batters in each of the wins. At the plate, Thorsen went 5-for-8 between the two games, hitting four doubles and recording six RBIs.   

Nathan Weckop, Randolph. The senior took the mound in the Rockets' 5-1 victory against New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva on April 11, tossing 63 strikes on 96 pitches in the win. Weckop pitched seven innings, allowing one unearned on two hits and tallying 13 strikeouts.
