Minneapolis Southwest vs. Minneapolis South, 4 p.m., Thursday, May 20. Minneapolis South looks to avenge a 10-3 loss on April 29 to Minneapolis Southwest, which enters the week having won nine consecutive games. The Tigers (7-6, 5-2) are fighting for second place in the Minneapolis City Conference standings — with Minneapolis’ Roosevelt and Washburn high schools — while the Lakers (11-1, 6-0) aim to continue their undefeated season in league play.
Hopkins vs. St. Louis Park, 6 p.m., Friday, May 21. Hopkins (10-6, 5-5) seems to have found its stride, winning five of its last six games, and should enjoy this chance to play against a quality nonconference opponent in St. Louis Park (8-7, 6-5). The Orioles have lost three straight games, but they’ve scored some big wins this season, including a 5-1 defeat of No. 3-4A Wayzata on May 1.
