Top games: Rocori wrangles with rival St. Cloud Apollo in doubleheader with postseason implications

Other games to keep an eye on

Maple Lake vs. Duluth Marshall, noon, Saturday, May 4. Maple Lake (5-1, 4-0) takes on Duluth Marshall in a rematch of last year’s Class 2A state championship game, which the Irish won 8-4. Maple Lake is riding a five-game winning streak entering the week, while the red-hot Hilltoppers (5-1, 1-0) have outscored their last three opponents 35-6.

Mounds View vs. Cretin-Derham Hall, 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 1. Mounds View (7-1, 5-1) clashes with Cretin-Derham Hall (3-3, 3-2) in a Suburban East Conference matchup, with both trying to keep pace with first-place Stillwater and No. 2 Woodbury in the league standings. The Mustangs’ lone blemish entering the week is a 4-2 loss to Woodbury on April 19. The Raiders are fighting to get traction after a runner-up Suburban East finish a year ago.
