Other games to keep an eye on

St. Paul Central vs. St. Paul Highland Park, 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 17. St. Paul Central (1-0, 0-0) takes on St. Paul Highland Park (0-0) for the second time in three days. Central split its regular-season series with Highland Park a year ago, a result that led the Minutemen to finish runner-up to the Scots in the St. Paul City Conference.

Austin vs. Red Wing, 5 p.m., Thursday, April 25. Austin (1-1, 0-0) plays Class 3A, Section 1 and Big 9 Conference foe Red Wing (2-1, 0-0) for the second time since losing both of its double-elimination section playoff games to the Wingers a year ago. The programs met to open this season with Red Wing winning the nonconference matchup 7-3.

Prior Lake vs. Lakeville North, 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 24. Defending South Suburban Conference champion Prior Lake (2-0, 2-0) has been swinging fierce bats and produced 21 runs in its first two games. Can league foe Lakeville North (1-1, 1-1) build off last year's Class 4A tournament appearance to calm the Lakers?
