Robbinsdale Armstrong

vs. Blaine

4:30 p.m., Monday, May 21

Robbinsdale Armstrong hasn't won a conference title since 2010, when it was a part of the now-defunct Classic Lake Conference.

One year later, the Falcons joined the Northwest Suburban Conference and finished third in the standings with a 14-5 record. They haven't cracked the top four since, but their start this season has them on top of the league standings entering this matchup.

The Falcons (6-3, 5-0) pulled off back-to-back walk-off wins last week. Eric Goldman hit a RBI single in a 9-8 win over Totino-Grace on May 2, and the next day Nathan Pertulla walked with the bases loaded in the ninth inning of a 4-3 win over Centennial. Before that, Drew Eid tied the game with a single in the seventh to keep the Falcons' hopes for a victory alive.

Robbinsdale Armstrong looks to continue its clutch run against defending conference champion Blaine on Tuesday in our Top Game of the Week.

Blaine featured strong pitching last season, allowing just 2.3 runs per game en route to an 11-2 conference record.

So far this season, the Bengals' (5-1, 3-1) pitching staff has been even better, allowing just seven runs total through six games (1.2 runs per contest).

Seth Miller leads the staff. The senior has struck out 19 and allowed just one run in 12 2/3 innings.
