Rocori vs. Alexandria

5 p.m., Thursday, May 3

Rocori has ripped through its early Central Lakes Conference schedule with head-pounding offensive production from almost every spot in the lineup.

Most strikingly, leadoff hitter Dalton Thielen is 5-for-9 with four walks and seven runs scored, and No. 8-hitter Jack Steil is batting 5-for-10 with five RBI and seven runs scored.

As a team, the Spartans (4-0, 4-0) have already tallied 43 runs this season, including scoring in double digits in a 13-3 victory over defending conference champion St. Cloud Tech on April 25.

Alexandria showed its offensive power last Thursday, piling up 11 hits against Brainerd in a 10-9 loss.

A Class 3A state-entrant a year ago, the Cardinals (1-1, 1-1) will try to rebound in a duel that could feature two future Division I pitchers on the mound: for Alexandria, it's North Dakota State-commit Carter Stockert, and for the Spartans, it's Dylan TeBrake, who will play at Creighton University.
