Legacy Christian scored the final six runs of the game to rally for a 9-4 victory over Ely in the Class 1A quarterfinals on Thursday at The Mini Met in Jordan.

The second-seeded Lions (20-4) scored three runs in the first inning to open an early 3-0 lead, before Ely used three hits -- including a two-run triple by Dalton Schreffler – and capitalized on two Lions errors to rally for four runs in the fourth inning and a 4-3 lead.

The Lions responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, to regain the lead 5-4.

The Lions then scored four runs in the sixth inning -- highlighted by Lucas Nelson's two-run triple -- to open a 9-4 lead.

The Lions, who won the consolation title last year in their first state tournament appearance, will play the winner of Wabasha-Kellogg and Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman in the semifinals on Friday. Ely (20-9) will play the loser of Wabasha-Kellogg and Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman in Friday's consolation semifinals.
