Liam Blaschko has had a busy week.

One day after finishing in the top 25 individuals of the two-day Class 1A boys state golf meet, Blaschko pitched unseeded Wabasha-Kellogg to a 2-0 victory over third-seeded Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman on Thursday in the Class 1A quarterfinals at The Mini Met in Jordan.

Blaschko, a senior, also drove in the Falcons’ first run with an RBI single in the top of the fourth inning.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Jaguars loaded the bases, but Blaschko pitched out of the jam.

The Falcons added their second run in the top of the sixth inning and then Blaschko struck out the side in the bottom of the sixth inning to give him 10 for the game.

The Jaguars also threatened in the bottom of the seventh, with two runners on and two outs, but couldn’t capitalize.

The Falcons (17-8) will play Legacy Christian in the semifinals on Friday, while the Jaguars (21-5) will play Ely in the consolation semifinals.
