Litchfield at New London-Spicer (doubleheader)
4 and 4:30 p.m., Monday, May 22

With one more win, New London-Spicer can clinch its first league title in more than a decade, although this would be the West Division championship in the Wright County Conference. If Litchfield can sweep the doubleheader, it could force a three-way tie between the Wildcats, Dragons and Glencoe-Silver Lake for the division crown.

New London-Spicer (13-3, 10-2) took the lead in the West Division standings following a doubleheader sweep of No. 12-2A Glencoe-Silver Lake with 5-0 and 2-1 decisions last week. The Wildcats are riding a six-game winning streak and have allowed just two runs in their last four games. Matt Spaulding leads the Wildcats with a 0.45 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings pitched.

After a slow start to the season that resulted in four losses in the first five games, Litchfield's has pitching has picked up its production. Tyler Sangren, Andrew Loch and Owen Boerema have each thrown at least six innings, allowing two runs or less over the past three games. The Dragons (10-7, 7-5) picked up victories in all three contests and have won six of their last eight games despite scoring more than four runs in just two.
