Minnehaha Academy at Academy of Holy Angels
4 p.m., Thursday, May 18

Through 16 games against fellow Class 2A opponents, Minnehaha Academy (15-1, 9-0) has outscored foes by 97 runs. The lone stumble was a 3-2 walkoff loss to No. 1-2A Belle Plaine in early April.

Noah Dehne has been a big part of the Redhawks' success. Over the past six games, the sophomore is hitting 9-for-20 with six RBI, and has eight runs scored and five walks.

On Thursday, Dehne and the No. 2-2A Redhawks step to the plate against No. 11-3A Holy Angels -- their first Class 3A opponent this season -- setting up what should be a difficult test and good preparation for postseason play.

Holy Angels defeated Fridley 7-6 on May 11 to take the lead in the Tri-Metro Conference standings, and the Stars (11-4, 6-1) haven't lost by more than two runs all season. Gabe Pilla has a 0.58 ERA over 24 innings, leading the team's awesome pitching staff that has a combined 1.44 ERA.
