Aitkin at Hinckley-Finlayson
4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 16

Two teams undefeated in league play go head-to-head in what is effectively a championship game in the Great River Conference.

Aitkin (13-1, 9-0) has crushed teams like no other in the entire state. It has 10-run ruled nine of its 14 opponents and has the highest run-differential in Minnesota (10.4 runs per game).

The No. 14-2A Gobblers' offense has collected at least eight hits in 11 of their games and senior Jeb Sanford has pitched two no-hitters.

Hinckley-Finlayson (9-4, 7-0) has the same record it did after 13 games last year when it made the state tournament. This season, TJ Johnson and Travis Visser have combined for two no-hitters. Johnson has surged at the plate recently as well, hitting 8-for-9 with 12 RBI over the last three games.

The No. 8-1A Jaguars are looking for their first win against Class 2A competition this season. The extra importance of knocking the Gobblers from the conference lead may give them a jolt. Aitkin has won five of the past six conference titles.
