Fridley at St. Anthony Village
4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 10

With just two Tri-Metro Conference games remaining on its schedule, St. Anthony Village could clinch the league championship by the end of Wednesday's game against second-place Fridley.

The No. 20-3A Huskies (8-3, 5-1) ended a seven-game winning streak by a 1-0 loss to St. Agnes on May 5, but their hot streak, with four one-run victories, was enough to put them in the driver's seat for their third conference title in three years.

St. Anthony's strength is its pitching, with Sullivan Jahnke, Nick Zezulka and Nikolas Fredrikson each posting an ERA under 3.0.

Fridley started the year with seven straight victories, but the No. 18-3A Tigers (10-4, 5-1) cooled with four losses in their last seven games. They fell to Blaine 4-1 on May 3 but rebounded with a 11-2 victory over St. Croix Lutheran last Friday.

Fridley will likely rely on its biggest weapon, Evan Shaw, on Wednesday. The sophomore has 61 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched while recording a 1.40 ERA.
