Melrose at Foley
5 p.m., Friday, May 5

Foley and Melrose are two of the hottest teams in the state right now. After suffering early-season losses to Albany, both teams are riding six-game winning streaks and have combined to outscore opponents 87-12. By the end of the week, these Class 2A, Section 6 opponents could be battling for the longest win streak in the state.

The Dutchmen (7-1, 6-0) hitters have been tearing up the competition. During their winning streak, at least 13 players have reached base in every game. Jordan Klaphake has been particularly effective, moving from the bench to the two-spot with 12 runs scored and six RBI in the six games.

The Falcons (8-2, 4-1) have the talent that could stop that offense. The pitching staff, led by Northwest Florida commit Noah Winkelman, has allowed just 14 runs this season.
