Rochester Lourdes at Cannon Falls
5 p.m., Monday, May 1

Rochester Lourdes and Cannon Falls have combined for the last four Hiawatha League Conference championships, but rough weeks have set them both back, making a win in this matchup vital for a chance at capturing a league title.

The Bombers (6-3, 6-2) were off to a strong start, but a surprising 6-2 loss to conference foe Lake City last Thursday has the defending conference champs chasing Kasson-Mantorville and Kenyon-Wanamingo. Liam Franken, Chase Reber and Hayden Strain should give No. 4-2A Cannon Falls plenty of bounce-back power, though. Each is posting a batting average above .400 and an on-base plus slugging percentage higher than 1.000.

Rochester Lourdes (5-3, 5-2) was on a four-game win streak before a 9-6 loss to Kenyon-Wanamingo on Apr. 29. The loss has pushed the No. 11-2A Eagles back into the five-team pack of two-loss teams that includes the Bombers. Catcher Matthew Raymond will try to lead Rochester Lourdes back up the conference standings as quickly as possible.
