Parkers Prairie at Wadena-Deer Creek
4:30 p.m., Friday, April 21

Wadena-Deer Creek (4-2, 2-2) was able to put together enough big hits against Parkers Prairie (3-1, 3-1) on Apr. 7 to secure a 4-3 upset win over last year's Class 1A runner-up. This week, they're back for more in a pivotal early-season game in the race for the Park Region Conference crown.

Jake Dykhoff got the better of the No. 2-1A Panthers the first time around, pitching the Wolverines to victory and collecting three hits and two runs in the one-run win.

Parkers Prairie hasn't allowed many hits since. Levi Arnold threw a three-hit shutout against Ottertail Central on April 11 and Matt Ferley followed that with one-hit allowed against New York Mills on April 13.

If either team is going to catch conference-leader Menahga, who beat Wadena-Deer Creek 8-5 on Apr. 13, capping off a strong week with a win on Friday will be a must.
