Cretin-Derham Hall at Forest Lake
4:30 p.m., Monday, April 10

Forest Lake begins 2017 with a four-game week, the first being a Suburban East Conference battle against Cretin-Derham Hall.

The Rangers finished last season 20-6 (13-3 in conference play), but won't have Mr. Baseball award winner Matt Wallner on the mound this season. Wallner has moved on to Southern Mississippi University after recording 95 strikeouts and a 0.95 ERA during his senior season. Seniors Jake Wensmann and Cameron Kline will attempt to fill the pitching void after turning in dominating pitching performances in the section playoffs.

The Raiders were just one win behind the Rangers in conference play last season, finishing 12-4, and 18-6 overall. Three all-conference honorees, outfielders Nick Auran and Frank Kimlinger, along with middle infielder Jack Koch, return to a squad that, according to coach Paul Weinberg, boasts six players that have received offers to play college ball.
