Minnehaha Academy 4, Pierz 2: Despite multiple weather delays, the Redhawks (26-3) found enough offense for one big inning to down the Pioneers (22-5) in the Class 2A semifinals. The game was initially delayed just before first pitch and then twice more after the game started.

Maintaining focus was crucial for the Redhawks during the delays and coach Scott Glenn pointed to his captains as the key factor. “I have four captains that really do a good job and they kept everybody focused,” said Glenn.

The Redhawks scored all of their runs in the third inning, just after the third rain delay. Pierz scored one unearned run in the top of the first and then again in the sixth via a single from senior Aaron Weber.
