After scoring three runs in the seventh inning and one run in the eighth, No. 5 seed Hinckley-Finlayson defeated No. 4 seed Legacy Christian Academy in the Class 1A Quarterfinal on Thursday at Chaska Athletic Park. 

Heading into their final at-bat trailing 3-1, the Jaguars came back to tie the game with a two-run seventh inning. Sophomore shortstop Trevor Johnson tied the game when he reached on an error, and sophomore center fielder Travis Visser knocked in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth.

Hinckley-Finlayson (19-6) used just one pitcher, despite the game going into extra innings. Junior pitcher TJ Johnson gave up five hits and had nine strikeouts while picking up the win for the Jaguars.

Things looked good through six innings for Legacy Christian Academy (19-7). Junior starter Josh Peterson gave up just three hits through six innings of work. He also paced the Lions with the bat. Peterson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

With the win, Hinckley-Finlayson advances to play No. 1 seed Parkers Prairie in Friday's semifinal. Legacy Christian Academy will move into the consolation bracket.
