Minnehaha Academy at Cannon Falls

Both Class 2A schools will use this matchup as a primer for the section playoffs after coming off tremendous regular season performances.
 
Top-ranked Minnehaha Academy dropped a 9-7 loss to No. 2-2A Belle Plaine in its opening week, but have since won 16 straight games backed by a state-leading 170 runs this season. The Redhawks' (17-1) stacked lineup has cranked up the heat lately, as they’ve outscored opponents 79-9 in just seven games in May.
 
Juniors Alex Evenson and John Goth have been major contributors to Minnehaha Academy’s offense as both are tied with a state-leading 26 RBI. Goth also has three homers on the year.
 
Cannon Falls has won six straight games and has seven shutouts, and the Bombers (14-2) have collectively posted a .335 batting average this season.
 
Senior pitcher Michael Monson is 6-1 this season for No. 6-2A Cannon Falls, compiling a 0.38 ERA.
