Mahtomedi at South St. Paul
7 p.m., Friday, May 20

Mahtomedi and South St. Paul meet in an East Metro Conference season finale which may prove to be crucial as both teams are in the hunt for the league title behind Hill-Murray.

The Zephyrs are 2-2 in conference play in May which has opened up the league race for the Packers, who defeated No. 3-3A Mahtomedi 4-3 on April 29. Three of the Zephyrs' losses have been decided by two or fewer runs.

South St. Paul is on a six-game winning streak and is playing its best baseball this season after earning a 2-1 in walk-off victory against Henry Sibley last Friday.

Minnesota commit Ryan Duffy hit 2-for-4, scored two runs and clinched the win for the Packers (13-4, 9-4) by striking out two batters in the top of the seventh inning.

Duffy also went 2-for-3 and scored two of South St. Paul’s runs against the Zephyrs (11-5, 8-4). Fellow Golden Gophers commit and left-handed pitcher Sam Bridges gave up seven hits, struck out eight batters and allowed two earned runs in the victory for the No. 7-3A Packers.
