Cretin-Derham Hall at Eden Prairie
4:30 p.m., Thursday, May 19

Cretin-Derham Hall and Eden Prairie have both held the top spot in the Class 4A rankings this season, but both teams have had their share of struggles and will look to use this meeting as a tuneup for the postseason.

The Raiders won their first 10 games of the season but have since gone 3-4. Cretin-Derham Hall (13-4) seems to have its defense back in order after holding White Bear Lake and Totino-Grace to three runs in two wins last week.

The Raiders' regular season ends this week and a win over the No. 20-4A Eagles could give No. 8-4A Cretin-Derham Hall a boost of confidence entering section play.

Eden Prairie was the No. 1 team in the preseason poll, but started the season 2-5. Since then, the Eagles (7-6) assembled a five-game winning streak before falling 2-1 to No. 2-4A Wayzata last Friday.

Last year Cretin-Derham Hall defeated Eden Prairie 1-0. Creighton commit Ryan Swanson was on the mound for the Eagles, striking out six batters and giving up five hits to the Raiders.
