St. Anthony Village at Academy of Holy Angels
4:30 p.m., Monday, May 16

Both teams are undefeated in league play this year and Monday’s game may be the deciding factor for this season's conference champion.

Last year’s game between St. Anthony Village and Academy of Holy Angels went nine innings as the Stars earned a 3-2 win and their first Tri-Metro Conference title.

The Huskies are riding a nine-game winning streak and have given up more than three runs just twice this season. St. Anthony (11-2, 6-0) has clinched three of its past four games in the sixth inning or later.

Minnesota-Morris commit Nick Peterson, a left-handed pitcher, has posted a 0.66 ERA in seven games for the No. 11-3A Huskies this season, five of which he’s gone the distance.

Holy Angels was ranked No. 8 in Class 3A in the preseason poll but has recently fallen out after dropping three of its past four games. Disregard the absence of a ranking, though, as the Stars (8-7, 3-0) haven’t lost in the league since 2014 and have played close games with some of the state’s best.

St. Cloud State commit and left-handed pitcher Shannon Ahern struck out 13 in last year’s nine-inning matchup and only allowed four hits and one earned run to give Holy Angels the win.
