Fridley at Academy of Holy Angels
4:30 p.m, Friday, April 29

Defending Tri-Metro Conference champion Holy Angels opens its league schedule this week against an up-and-coming Fridley team that looks ready to derail the No. 17-3A Stars.

The Tigers (7-1) are riding a six-game winning streak and outscoring opponents 48-23.

Carson Hauge was named the Star Tribune’s Athlete of the Week on April 18 after the senior went 8-for-14 at the plate and finished with 10 runs, eight RBI and six stolen bases during Fridley's dominant run. He closed out his spectacular week in style, hitting a walk-off three-run homer to propel the Tigers to a 14-11 win over Providence Academy on April 15.

Freshman left-hander Evan Shaw is 4-0 with 21 strikeouts. He has a 2.55 ERA and allowed only three walks in 22 innings pitched this season.

Holy Angels (3-4) hasn't let an opponent score double-digit runs, but the Stars have struggled offensively and tallied three runs or less in three of their losses.

St. Cloud State commit Shannon Ahern notched his third win of the season in a 3-2 victory over Bloomington Kennedy on April 23. The Holy Angels senior struck out 10 while allowing six hits and one earned run in pitching a complete game.
