Edina at Wayzata
4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 28

Wayzata clinched a 3-2 victory in the 11th inning against Edina on April 22 to deal the No. 9-4A Hornets their first loss of the season.

Pitcher Jake Marsh earned the win for the the Trojans and also hit a homer, while Kansas State commit Tom Skoro recorded the save.

Wayzata coach Bobby Dewitt returns this season after taking last year off to aid his son's battle with cancer.

Dewitt’s presence in the dugout has seemingly ignited No. 1-4A Wayzata, as the Trojans (6-0, 2-0) upended preseason Lake Conference favorite No. 10-4A Eden Prairie in the season's opening week. They also routed No. 16-4A Robbinsdale Armstrong 13-0 on April 20 in a rematch of last year's Class 3A, Section 6 championship.

Edina (4-1, 1-1) looks to avenge its loss when they travel Wayzata on Thursday. The Hornets can add to their motivation the fact they outhit the Trojans 8-4 in the first meeting.
